Meet the practitioner, Sarah
Over the past few years, mindfulness has become an extremely important and beneficial part of my life. Dealing with chronic conditions that took many years to be diagnosed led to a lot of health anxiety, and when COVID-19 hit, that anxiety boiled over. I felt lost, and mindfulness has been my way back to presence. Through modalities like breathwork, meditation and art, I was able to re-ground myself and take charge of my life.
I’ve seen firsthand just how much of an impact these practices can have, which is why teaching them is so important to me. As a registered dietitian and personal trainer, I work to integrate mindfulness into all of my treatment plans, because no matter how healthfully you eat and move, if you’re suffering from chronic stress, you won’t see the results you’re looking for.
As an extremely empathic person, I tend to carry the weight of the emotions of my patients with me after heavy sessions. Because of this, I am moving away from individual counseling and focusing my energy on group coaching and education.
When I’m not doing my Mindful RD work, you can find me making art, playing my ukulele, rock climbing, or spending time with animals. I have always been an animal (especially bird) lover at heart, and am working towards being able to practice animal nutrition.
